Seasonal Extreme Cold Weather Supply Assistant (Fixed Term)

Fixed-Term, Full-Time | Rostered Hours  (Includes Weekends)

7 December 2026 – 26 March 2027 [Afternoon shift from 3:30pm to midnight]

PAE is one of New Zealand’s largest providers of facilities management services. With a proud legacy of supporting critical infrastructure – from Defence sites to civic spaces – we deliver services that keep our clients operating safely, efficiently, and sustainably.

Up for a role that’s a little bit different?

We’re on the lookout for a reliable, hands-on Extreme Cold Weather Supply Assistant to join our seasonal Antarctic Support team. This is a fixed-term role supporting the US Antarctic Program (USAP), based at Christchurch Airport.

You’ll help kit out USAP participants for the extreme Antarctic climate, issuing and sorting cold weather clothing and gear. You’ll also assist with general warehouse operations. If you're a team player with an eye for detail, this is your kind of role.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Pack, issue, and sort specialist Antarctic clothing
  • Support logistics for flights, passengers, and gear
  • Assist with warehousing and inventory duties
  • Work a rostered 5-day week, including weekends - this is a full time (40hrs / wk) afternoon shift from 3:30pm to midnight.

Why you?

You’re practical, organised, and calm under pressure. You like structure but can flex when needed, and you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves. You work well in a team, have a great eye for detail, and take pride in getting the job done right.

To be considered, you must:

  • Be available to start from 7 December 2026
  • Hold a full, clean NZ Class 1 Driver’s Licence
  • Be a NZ citizen, resident, or hold a valid work visa
  • Be able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol test
  • Successfully complete a US Government background investigation (including reference and security checks for an Airport Identity Card)

What makes this role one of a kind?

This isn’t your standard warehouse role – you’ll be part of something bigger. Supporting Antarctic operations means being part of an internationally recognised mission, alongside a team that’s passionate, down-to-earth, and thrives in unique environments.  Applications close 23 October 2026, or earlier should a suitable candidate be identified.
