We are now looking for a Service Desk Administrator to join our team at Waiouru Military Camp.
This is a diverse and hands-on role supporting the day-to-day operation of the Waiouru Service Centre. As the first point of contact for staff, visitors, contractors, and NZDF personnel, you'll play a key role in delivering outstanding customer service while supporting administration, health and safety, and site coordination activities. This role will require Rostered Shifts (fixed night shift)12-hour shifts.
About the role
Reporting to the Contract Delivery Manager, you'll be responsible for managing Service Desk enquiries, coordinating site administration activities, supporting health and safety processes, and ensuring the smooth operation of essential support services across Waiouru Military Camp.
No two days are the same. From welcoming visitors and managing security processes through to coordinating maintenance requests, supporting payroll administration, and assisting with health and safety reporting, you'll be at the centre of site operations.
What you'll be responsible for
- Providing front-line customer service and acting as the first point of contact for visitors and enquiries
- Managing Service Desk operations, telephone enquiries, emails, and conference room bookings
- Coordinating key management, gate codes, and supporting site security processes
- Processing incident reports and maintaining site records and documentation
- Supporting purchasing, invoicing, payroll administration, and monthly reporting activities
- Coordinating maintenance requests, travel arrangements, and vehicle servicing requirements
- Supporting site health and safety programmes, reporting, and committee activities
- Maintaining registers, records, inventories, and contract documentation
- Assisting with staff inductions and Service Centre training for new employees
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in administration, customer service, reception, or office coordination roles
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels
- A highly organised approach with strong attention to detail
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
