We are seeking reliable and customer-focused Casual Service Desk Operators to join our team at Waiouru Military Camp
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a varied workday, thrives in a customer-facing environment, and can confidently balance administration, security monitoring, and operational support responsibilities.
About the Role
As a Service Desk Operator, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, staff, contractors, and military personnel accessing the Service Centre. You will provide excellent customer service while supporting the smooth operation of camp services through effective administration, facility coordination, and health and safety support.
This position requires flexibility to work across a rotating shift roster, including day, afternoon, and night shifts:
- 5:30am – 1:30pm
- 1:30pm – 9:30pm
- 9:30pm – 5:30am
Key Responsibilities
- Greet visitors and provide professional customer service at the Service Centre.
- Answer telephone, email, and face-to-face enquiries.
- Monitor and respond to the Intruder Alarm System
- Issue and receive keys for camp facilities and accommodation.
- Coordinate bookings for the Service Centre Conference Room.
- Assist with opening and securing restricted facilities during working hours.
- Process incident reports and maintain accurate records.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly reports and data collation.
- Process invoices, credit notes, and other accounting administration tasks.
- Manage purchasing of stationery, uniforms, and consumables.
- Maintain filing, archiving, and site records.
- Assist with staff travel bookings and general administrative support.
- Support health and safety reporting, meetings, and compliance activities.
What You'll Bring
- Previous experience in administration, reception, customer service, or a service desk environment.
- Ability to work a rotating roster, including overnight shifts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- A proactive, adaptable, and customer-focused approach.
- Understanding of health and safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
