We're looking for a Water Technician to join our team at RNZAF Base Ohakea.
This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining safe and reliable drinking water services across the base. You'll be responsible for water quality monitoring, sampling, inspections and maintenance activities while also supporting the wider plumbing team with repairs and maintenance across site.

About the role
As a Water Technician, you'll play an important role in maintaining drinking water infrastructure and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
You'll undertake water quality testing, inspections, preventative maintenance and fault finding activities while supporting the operation and reliability of water systems across the site.
Working closely with the plumbing team, you'll also assist with a variety of maintenance and repair activities, making this a varied role with plenty of opportunity to develop your skills.
What you'll be responsible for
- Drinking water quality sampling, testing and monitoring
- Routine inspections of drinking water infrastructure
- Maintaining compliance records and monitoring data
- Supporting preventative maintenance programmes
- Identifying faults, defects and maintenance requirements
- Assisting with repairs and maintenance of water infrastructure
- Supporting the plumbing team with wider maintenance activities
- Responding to water quality and service issues as required
- Maintaining accurate records through our maintenance management systems
- Working safely and in accordance with regulatory requirements
What we're looking for
- Experience in water services, water reticulation, plumbing or related infrastructure
- Understanding of drinking water systems and water quality requirements
- Practical maintenance and fault-finding skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Willingness to participate in an on-call roster if required
- Full New Zealand Driver Licence
- Ability to obtain and maintain NZDF security clearance
