Painter - Waiouru

We're looking for a Painter to join our team at Waiouru Military Camp.

If you're looking for variety without travelling from site to site, this could be the role for you. Working across one of New Zealand's largest Defence estates, you'll carry out painting, decorating and minor maintenance work across a mix of residential, commercial and operational buildings.

Housing may be available for the right candidate.

About the role

You'll undertake both planned and reactive painting work, helping maintain the presentation and condition of buildings and facilities across the camp.

Working alongside other trades and site teams, you'll deliver quality workmanship while identifying maintenance issues and helping keep the site looking its best.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Interior and exterior painting and decorating
  • Surface preparation and refurbishment work
  • Minor maintenance tasks associated with painting activities
  • Identifying and reporting maintenance issues
  • Maintaining accurate job records through our work management system
  • Working safely and delivering a high standard of workmanship

What we're looking for

  • Experience in commercial or residential painting
  • Pride in your workmanship and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage your workload
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Full New Zealand Driver Licence
  • Ability to obtain and maintain NZDF security clearance
