Plumber

For over 30 years, PAE has partnered with the New Zealand Defence Force, delivering facilities and asset management services that keep critical environments working and moving. It's a relationship we're incredibly proud of because it reflects the trust placed in us to deliver every single day.

As a proudly iwi-owned organisation, we recognise our role as kaitiaki, guardians of the environments and communities we support, and we are committed to building strong, respectful partnerships grounded in manaakitanga.

We're looking for a qualified Plumber to join our team at RNZAF Base Ohakea.

If you're looking for variety without spending your day travelling from site to site, this could be the role for you. Working across a single Defence site, you'll undertake a mix of planned maintenance, fault finding, repairs and project work while helping maintain critical infrastructure and facilities.

This is a hands-on role working across a diverse range of buildings, accommodation, plant and infrastructure. No two days are quite the same, but you'll finish each day knowing your work contributes to keeping a critical Defence site safe, operational and functioning as it should.

Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.

About the role

As a Plumber, you'll be responsible for delivering plumbing maintenance services across RNZAF Base Ohakea, supporting both day-to-day operational requirements and longer-term maintenance programmes.

You'll undertake planned and reactive maintenance, inspections, repairs and fault finding activities across a wide range of plumbing systems and infrastructure. You'll also work closely with operational teams and subcontractors to ensure maintenance activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

This role offers the opportunity to work independently while being part of a skilled trades team responsible for maintaining a diverse portfolio of Defence assets.

  • Participating in on-call arrangements as required

What we're looking for

  • NZ Registered Plumber
  • Current Gasfitting registration would be highly regarded
  • Experience in maintenance, facilities, infrastructure or commercial plumbing environments
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Sound understanding of relevant plumbing regulations and standards
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Full New Zealand Driver Licence
  • Ability to obtain and maintain NZDF security clearance

Why this role

  • One site with a diverse range of facilities and infrastructure
