We are seeking a Cleaning Supervisor to lead our cleaning operations team at RNZAF Base Ohakea.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys developing people, creating accountability and lifting performance. You'll play a key role in building team capability, embedding consistent standards and fostering a positive culture where people can succeed.
You'll be responsible for coordinating service delivery, leading and developing your team, maintaining quality standards and ensuring our customers receive an exceptional level of service. Success in this role will come from your ability to influence, coach and bring people together around shared expectations and outcomes.
What you'll be responsible for
- Leading, mentoring and developing a team of cleaning professionals
- Building team capability through coaching, training and regular feedback
- Coordinating daily cleaning operations and service delivery
- Managing rosters and ensuring adequate staffing coverage
- Conducting quality inspections and maintaining service standards
- Monitoring KPI performance and implementing improvement initiatives
- Supporting performance management and fostering accountability within the team
- Managing cleaning equipment, consumables and resources
- Building positive relationships with customers and site stakeholders
- Promoting a strong culture of health, safety and wellbeing
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the contract
What we're looking for
- Experience leading or supervising teams within cleaning, hospitality, facilities management or a related service environment
- A genuine passion for developing people and building team capability
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- A customer-focused approach and commitment to service excellence
- The ability to motivate others, set expectations and drive performance
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence having courageous conversations and addressing challenges constructively
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
- Current NZ Class 1 Driver Licence
- Ability to obtain and maintain NZDF security clearance
