We are now looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Defence team based at Papakura Military Camp.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of property and infrastructure projects across a complex and operational Defence environment, where planning, coordination and strong stakeholder relationships are critical to success.

About the role

As Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading projects from concept through to completion balancing customer expectations, operational impacts, commercial outcomes and compliance requirements along the way.

You’ll work closely with operational teams, subcontractors, consultants and NZDF stakeholders to coordinate projects safely and efficiently within live operational environments.

This role offers genuine variety, autonomy and the opportunity to make a visible impact across important Defence infrastructure and facilities.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Managing the end-to-end delivery of property and infrastructure projects
  • Coordinating project planning, procurement, delivery and handover activities
  • Managing budgets, forecasts, reporting and commercial performance
  • Coordinating contractors, consultants and operational teams
  • Managing project risks, timelines and stakeholder expectations
  • Supporting project governance, compliance and reporting requirements
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard
  • Building strong working relationships with NZDF stakeholders and customers

What we’re looking for

  • Experience managing construction, infrastructure or facilities-related projects
  • Strong understanding of project delivery, financial management and stakeholder coordination
  • Experience working within operational or high-compliance environments
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing subcontractors, consultants and project budgets
  • A practical and collaborative approach to project delivery
  • Relevant qualification in Project Management, Construction, Engineering or similar discipline preferred
  • The ability to obtain and maintain NZDF security clearance
