The Role
We’re looking for a qualified Plumber to join our team based at NZDF Trentham. You’ll be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems across the site, ensuring everything flows as it should. This role is hands-on, varied, and will see you working both independently and alongside other skilled tradespeople supporting Defence operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out scheduled and unscheduled plumbing maintenance and repairs
- Preparing and reviewing checklists, maintenance plans, and reports
- Inspecting plumbing systems to meet compliance and reporting requirements
- Managing materials and assisting with estimates and budgets
- Ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and environmental standards
- Participating in the on-call roster and responding to call-outs when required
What You’ll Bring
- NZ Registered Plumbing qualification with at least 5 years’ trade experience
- Current Class 1 driver’s licence
- Sound communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach
- Strong problem-solving skills and resilience under pressure
- Ability to obtain and maintain Defence security clearance (including Ministry of Justice checks)
- A commitment to safety and quality in everything you do
