We’re currently looking for a 1st or 2nd year Electrical Apprentice to join our team at NZDF Trentham.
This is a fantastic hands-on opportunity for someone who is working towards their Level 4 Electrical Registration and wants to learn from experienced tradespeople while supporting a high-trust, secure site.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting the electrical team with scheduled and preventative maintenance

  • Carrying out emergency lighting checks, PAT testing, and general lighting inspections

  • Assisting with repairs and installations under supervision

  • Ensuring maintenance records and checklists are up to date

  • Attending off-site block courses and completing all apprenticeship training requirements

  • Learning the ropes in a collaborative, safety-first environment

What we’re looking for:

  • Enrolled (or planning to enrol) in an electrical apprenticeship through a recognised ITO

  • A genuine interest in the electrical trade and eagerness to learn

  • A reliable, proactive work ethic and willingness to follow instructions

  • Strong attention to detail and basic knowledge of electrical safety

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

You’ll also need to:

  • Be eligible to work in New Zealand

  • Pass a Ministry of Justice and Police background check (as the role is based on a Defence site)
