About PAE
We’re PAE – one of the largest facilities management providers in Aotearoa, supporting the likes of the New Zealand Defence Force, local government, hospitality and retail businesses, and even Antarctica! Proudly Kiwi-run, our mission is simple: Keep your world working and moving. While our clients focus on their core missions, we’re behind the scenes keeping things running smoothly.
The Opportunity
We’re on the lookout for a capable and proactive Project Manager to join our NZDF Project Team. Based in the Auckland region, you’ll be responsible for coordinating and delivering a mix of capital works and maintenance projects across 3 NZDF sites. You’ll be working within a high-performing team and will play a key role in making sure our project outcomes are safe, timely, on-budget, and meet client expectations.
While you’ll own the delivery of your assigned projects, this isn’t a lone-ranger role – you’ll collaborate closely with our on-site teams, contractors, and client representatives. You’ll bring your planning smarts, great people skills, and a sharp eye for risk, quality, and continuous improvement.
What you’ll be doing
Delivering projects from scoping to completion, ensuring safety, compliance, and performance
Building strong relationships with clients and subcontractors
Managing budgets, timelines, and reporting requirements
Coordinating multiple stakeholders to keep everyone aligned
Supporting continuous improvement and innovation across project delivery
Contributing to robust HSE and environmental outcomes
What we’re looking for
Project management qualifications (e.g., Diploma, PMP, Prince2)
3–5 years' experience in project management for the construction or facilities maintenance sectors
A calm operator with excellent planning and stakeholder coordination skills
Familiarity with MS Project and reporting tools
A collaborative mindset and ability to work as part of a high-performing team
NZ Driver’s Licence and ability to obtain necessary client clearances (including security clearance)
The ability and willingness to work across three Defence sites located in Devonport, Papakura and Whenuapai (company vehicle included)
Why join us?
Work on meaningful infrastructure supporting NZDF operations
Be part of a supportive team where values like integrity, teamwork and care are lived every day
Ongoing professional development opportunities
A workplace that backs sustainability, inclusion and community
