Facilities Manager

We currently have two brand new roles available for experienced Facilities Managers to lead the delivery of services for our Wellington City Council contract. This is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing complex, multi-site facilities operations in a dynamic and high-profile public environment.

About the role

Reporting to the Contract Manager, you will be the primary liaison for our Council client, ensuring the effective, safe, and compliant delivery of facilities management services. This includes managing subcontractor performance, monitoring KPIs, resolving issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance value for both the Council and the wider community.

You will also contribute to broader strategic objectives, identifying opportunities to innovate, optimise service delivery, and implement more sustainable, efficient, and forward-thinking ways of working.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the day-to-day delivery of facilities services across a diverse property portfolio.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for the client and building trusted, professional relationships.
  • Managing subcontractors to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality service delivery.
  • Monitoring performance and reporting against contractual KPIs and service levels.
  • Supporting project scoping, pricing, and contract variations as required.
  • Driving service reviews and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Promoting sustainable practices and contributing to innovation in the built environment.
  • Participating in the on-call roster and providing operational support during escalations.

What we’re looking for:

We are seeking a professional with proven experience managing complex facilities operations, ideally in a public or critical infrastructure environment. You’ll be a confident communicator, a capable organiser, and a collaborative leader who brings a solution-focused approach to your work.

You will also bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in Facilities Management, ideally across multiple sites or high-demand environments.
  • Strong understanding of service delivery, maintenance planning, and contractor management.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • A proactive, improvement-focused mindset, with experience driving innovation and change.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
